Salt Bowl 2019
There was a lot of hype building up before the 2019 Salt Bowl, but it was very lopsided once the game began. Predicted attendance was over 30,000, but total attendance was 26,178 compared to last year’s 38,000.
As soon as Bryant touched the ball it was clear what the outcome would be. Bryant outmatched Benton in all aspects of the game. It should be noted that Benton is 6a classification while Bryant is 7a. Bryant is the defending state champion and currently sits at the number one spot in class 7a. Benton is currently second on the Hootens.com week 0 rankings.
Bryant scored on their first offensive possession and went on to score 21 consecutive before we saw any signs of life from the Benton offense. The sportsmanship rule went into effect early in the third quarter. Bryant defeated Benton 42-14.
Bryant QB, Austin Ledbetter was 14/22 for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Bryant RB, Ahmad Adams had 13 carries for 85 yards and 3 touchdowns.
