Shut. Out. Whitehaven Rolls Over NLR

23-0 Shutout: Whitehaven rolls over North Little Rock (NLR). 9.6.19

Lackluster offensive performance by NLR allows Whitehaven (Memphis TN) to overpower and outlast NLR In their first home loss since 9/25/2016.

NLR’s dominate rushing attack, which we have grown to expect and love to watch, was non-existent Friday night. The Whitehaven defense was very well prepared and stopped NLR in their tracks. NLR did not have a first down until the 4th quarter. NLR’s pass offense left a lot to be desired until a short burst in the 4th quarter, which ultimately led to an interception by 2020 Razorback commit, Martavius French, and Whitehaven sealing the win, 23-0.

NLR’s defense performed well in the first half, only allowing 9 points. In the 4th quarter, Whitehaven began to wear down NLR’s defense, scoring twice on rushing plays that had multiple missed tackles. NLR’s offense seemed to be outmatched by Whitehaven’s defense throughout the entire game.

Even though the season is just beginning, this is not the performance you want to see from the 7a state runner up (2018) and nationally ranked (38), NLR. NLR May see some trouble going into conference play from an improved Central team and especially the 2018 state champions, Bryant. Bryant is our top pick to win the 7a state championship.
